Echo Matter is a movement collective working within the nexus of dance and theater performance. Its practice is developing through the need to explore concepts within a stylized, theatrical, and physical demonstration—beginning through the mobilized body. The body, as this searching and referential text, is our power.
Echo Matter then aims to bring social and cultural performance into artistically-designated spaces and beyond, purposed to ask observers and participants alike what it means to begin artistic exchange as individualists, but then questioning how we can move forward into a broader collective with the goal to engage in meaningful connection. How we act and move in this world serves this connection—both within art, and beyond it.
